Hosamutta Bridge submerges for the first time this monsoon

 Kadaba, July 4, 2013 : The Hosamutta bridge on the Uppinangady –Kadaba State Highway, which is a vital link to the famous pilgrim shrine of Kukke Subrahmanya Kshetra submerged for the first time this monsoons on July 3, Wednesday afternoon. Soon after,  the  Home Guards and the police personnel who were on guard on either sides of the bridge closed its gate. Traffic on the Kadaba-Uppinangady state highway was disrupted following this.

Water on the bridge did not recede till late evening. BC Shivappa, Special Tahsildar and Kadaba SI HE Nagaraj visited the place. Holiday has been declared for schools and colleges of the area. All rivulets in the area  are overflowing and water has also gushed into several fields and plantations.
