Holy pilgrimage cross travels to Shaktinagar Parish

Mangalore, Feb 10: A holy cross, which was blessed by Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, after the annual Eucharistic Procession of the Mangalore Diocese on the grounds of the Rosario Cathedral on Feb 6, Sunday, as part of the 125th anniversary of the Mangalore Diocese, was handed over to Holy Cross Parish, Cordel on that day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This holy cross will travel from parish to parish till it covers all the parishes of Mangalore Diocese.

 Fr. Valerian Pinto, the parish priest of Cordel, received the holy cross from the bishop and brought it to Kulshekar Parish, which will soon be celebrating its 100th anniversary. The people of the parish worshipped the cross till Feb 9, on which day it was ceremoniously handed over to the Mother of God Parish of Shaktinagar.

The cross will thus journey to all the 158 parishes of the Mangalore Diocese.
