His Beatitude Cardinal Mar George Alanchery to visit Mangaluru on 30th April

Mangaluru, Apr 29, 2015: Cardinal Mar George Alanchery, Major Archbishop, Father and Head of Syro-Malabar Catholic Church visits Karnataka for the first time from 30th of April to 5th May 2015.

On 30th April the Cardinal will be welcomed at St. Alphonsa Catholic Forane Church, Kankanady by Sri.NalinKumar Kateel MP, Sri.J.R.Lobo ,MLA ,Sri.Ivan D Souza,MLC ,Smt.Jacinta D,Souza, Mayor, Mangalore City Corporation , Rt.Rev.Dr.Aloysius Paul D Souza   Bishop of Mangalore , and Mar Lawrence  Mukkuzhy,Bishop  of  Belthangady along with the people of Mangalore.

St. Alphonsa Church will celebrate the Visit of  Cardinal with various activities. Immediately on arrival, the Cardinal will meet the Press at 9.30am and give messagefor the people of Karnataka.

Catholic Church is a Union of 22 churches. Except the Latin Church, all other 21 Churches are eastern Churches. Syro Malabar Catholic Church is the Second largest church among the 21 eastern churches.

Cardinal Mar George Alanchery is elevated to the present stature 4 years back and had participated in the selection of Pope Francis.
