Hindu outfits charge government of apathy towards crime against women

Mangalore, July 26, 2014 : Various Hindu outfits including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bhajrangdal, Durga Vahini and Matra Mandali organised a protest in front of the DC office in the city on July 25, Friday   to condemn the rising cases of sexual assaults on women in the state.

Jithendra Kottari,   VHP leader who spoke on the occasion, said there has been a rise in cases of rapes in the state ever since the Congress assumed power. Women are having a feeling of insecurity, he said and charged the chief minister of remaining in a state of slumber.

He also held the Home Minister responsible for the rising cases of crime against women.

Jagadish Shenava, another VHP leader accused ministers from the district Ramanatha Rai, Abhayachandra Jain, Vinay Kumar Sorake and even the CM of dozing off in the assembly while it was seriously discussing the crimes against women.

Gopal Kuttar, District Secretary of VHP, Bhajrangdal leader Bhujangala Kulal, Vijayashree Pumpwell of Matra Mandali, Surekha, Convenor of Durgavahini and others participated in the protest.
