Hindu activists booked for holding ’Love Jihad’ awareness campaign without permission

Udupi, Jan 23, 2018:  A case has been registered in Udupi town police station against VHP, Bajrangdal and Durga Vahini leaders for holding an awareness campaign against Love Jihad near the bus stand close by the MGM College on January 22, without obtaining any permission.

The   activists were found distributing printed handouts to college students. On enquiry it came to light that they had not obtained any permission for the event. Following a complaint lodged in this regard by  Sub-Inspector Narayana, a case has been registered for holding the programme without permission and also for obstructing vehicular movement on National Highway 169A.

Vilas Nayak, Udupi District President of VHP, Sunil K R, Dinesh Mendon, Surendra Koteshwar of Bajrangdal and 40 others were involved in the  awareness campaign that was carried out without permission.
