Mangaluru, Dec 12, 2018: Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu has said that a high level meet would be held in the national capital within a week to decide on several issues relating to the Mangaluru International Airport including introducing new flights and development of the airport.
Suresh Prabhu who arrived at the airport on December 11, Tuesday was greeted among others by Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel who submitted a memorandum listing various demands pertaining to the MIA including introducing flights on six new routes and change in timings of Air India flights from Mangaluru to Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile, employees of the airport continued their protest against the moves to privatise the airport for the second day. The employees’ delegation even met the Union Minister and urged him to drop the proposal for privatisation.
