Mangaluru, Aug 16,2017 : Hemanth Nimbalkar, a senior IPS officer took charge as the IGP (Western Range) on August 16, Wednesday. Outgoing IGP Harishekharan handed over charge to him. Harishekharan has been transferred to Bengaluru.
Speaking on the occasion, Hemanth Nimbalkar warned of stringent action against disruptors of peace. No one who tries to disturb the tranquility of the society will be spared, he said. He also stated that has made an in-depth study of the situation in the district.
Nimbalkar had served as a Probationary officer in Moodbidri and Vittal in 2002. He also has the experience of serving as SP of Anti-Terrorist Force, SP of Chikkamagaluru, Joint Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, DIG of Fire and Services and IGP of Economic offences wing of CID.
