Hebri, Oct 27, 2015: A five year old boy had a miraculous escape from the clutches of a python right in front of the eyes of his family members recently. Sakshath, son of Santosh Shetty of Pakkalu Kolibettu near Perdoor is the lucky boy.
The incident took place when Sakshath along with his parents, aunt and her two kids were returning from a local Mutt after attending a Vijaya Dashami Pooja. As the path which they were returning was bushy on either side they were walking one after the other. When their house was just about 15 feet away, Sakshath rushed ahead towards his home when a python which was in the bushes pounced on him and caught hold of one of his legs. As the boy fell on to the ground and started screaming his panic stricken family rushed to his help. Luckily the boy tried to kick off the python in his other leg which made it move away. The bleeding boy was given first aid and immediately rushed to the Hiriadka Hospital where he was provided treatment and is presently recovering..
Snake expert Gururaj Sanil who visited Sakshath in the hospital said the boy has not suffered much as his skin has peeled off while pulling his leg out from the mouth of the python.
