Heavy rains uproot mango tree at Attavar

 Mangaluru, May 15, 2016: The heavy rains accompanied by strong winds that lashed the city  on May 15 night has uprooted a huge mango tree inside the compound of a house near KMC Hospital at Attavar.

The mishap took place at around 3.30 am. The tree rolled on to the road  disrupting traffic. Power supply to  the area was also cut off as the hi-tension electric cables were snapped during the mishap.

Local corporator Abdul Ravoof who rushed to the spot, summoned MESCOM officials and  fire service personnel who assisted in clearing the tree branches from the road.
