Heavy rains uproot huge Mayflower Tree at Mallikatta

Mangalore, June 12, 2014:  A huge Mayflower Tree crashed into the Mallikatta Road in the city at around 4.30 am on June 12, Wednesday. As the mishap occurred at a time when there was practically no traffic on the road, averted a major casualty.

 

 

Still the prolonged delay in the part of the fire service personnel to arrive at the spot to clear the tree branches off the road, tested the patience of the public as well as disrupted traffic on the otherwise busy road. The fire service men arrived at the spot well past nine. The tree branches were then cleared. Even the local autorickshaw drivers extended a helping hand to the fire servicemen
