The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, based in Bangalore, issued 12hrs high-rainfall alerts from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Belthangady recorded the highest rainfall of 128.5mm at 8:45 p.m.

The Hosamat Bridge connecting to Subrahmanya was submerged and this caused traffic blocks for long hours.

However, the landslide along NH234 has been cleared and vehicles can move through Charmadi Ghats now. Two earth excavators were brought to the place to clear the land slide on the second and third curves of the Charmadi Ghat road, which has a total of 11 curves.

The local people, who helped clear the landslide, said that it was difficult to clear the landslide because of continuous heavy rains and softening of mud.
