Heavy rain lashes western ghat foot hills augers well for coast

Mangaluru, June 06, 2019: Various parts of western ghats foot hills around Kodagu and Chikkamagaluru districts received heavy rain on June 5, Wednesday afternoon, Mangaluru and suroundings and coast too received rain and winds in the early hours of June 6, Wednesday, cooling down the weather here.

 

The rain was accompanied by lightning and thunder. The rain brought relief to the people from the scorching heat.

Chikkamagaluru district also received heavy rain. The sky was overcast throughout the day and opened up in the evening. With the rain lashing for the last few days, farmers have started levelling the land for paddy cultivation. The rain has also brought the temperature level down. This welcome pre-monsoon activity has brought new hope and prayers for rain and water are being offered by all sections of people.
