Health minister Khader, DC Prakash visit flood hit areas

Mangalore, July 5, 2013 : State Minister for Health and Family Welfare UT Khader along with Deputy Commissioner N Prakash and other officials visited the  areas badly affected by floods  in various places in and around Mangalore and inspected the damage caused.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the extent of damage caused by floods could be assessed only after the water receded. He said all out efforts would be made to shift the affected people to safer places.

Heavy rains, on July 4, Thursday left several houses inundated and many families almost trapped in knee deep water. Places like Patla, Adamkudru, Kallaup,Jeppinamogaru suffered the worst as water levels in Netravathi rose.

 Rain water gushed inside the classrooms of St Sebastian Higher Primary School at Adamkudru and students had to be taken home in boats.
