Hazare’s supporters break fast and conduct victory rally

Mangalore, Aug 28: The supporters of Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement organized a victory rally in the city when Hazare finally broke his 12-day-long fast today.


Sudatta Jain and Santhosh, the leaders of the Akhila Bharata Karmika Sangha, who had settled down to fast unto death in support of the movement seven days back, finally broke their fast in front of the DC’s office at 10:00 a.m. today.

The two had begun agitating on Aug 22 near Divine Complex, Kavoor and moved to Gandhi Vana in front of Town Hall on the following day, before finally changing their protest venue to the usual place in front of the DC’s office. 


Annaiah Kulal, and Gowrishankar assisted the two to break their fast.  


The activists raised slogans in support of Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement and marched toward Gandhi Vana in front of Town Hall under the leadership of Mr. Jain. They garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the end of their victory rally.
