Speaking to reporters here on January 17, Wednesday, Harikrishna Bantwal lambasted the Congress for criticising the BJP for using the photos of Tulunadu legends Koti Chennaya in a  banner during a party meeting. He questioned why Congress had used the portrait of Sri Narayana Guru  during the inauguration of developmental projects in Bantwal.

On the challenge posed by Ramanatha Rai during Tuesday’s protest that the BJP should field a Billawa candidate  in the Lok Sabha elections, Harikrishna Bantwal said the BJP had given opportunity to a candidate of the community and counter challenged the Congress to field a Billawa or Muslim candidate for the Lok Sabha elections.

He also predicted that Rai would lose the assembly elections from Bantwal. Describing Rai as Mahishasura, Harikrishna Bantwal said the people of Bantwal will be the Devi who will crush the demon Mahishasura.

Rai who has hurt  the community by stopping mid-day meals to a school which has majority Billawa students and also by hurting Billawa leader Janardhana Poojary   will not win elections, said Harikrishna Bantwal.
