HC asks Mayor to verify facts before raids

Mangaluru, Sep 14,2017:   A single judge bench of the High Court has directed Mayor Kavitha  Sanil and   the MCC Commissioner to thoroughly check complaints of violation before embarking on raids  and also to ensure that all procedures are followed before raids.

The court verdict came in response to a writ filed by  Francis Kiran Lasrado, owner of Green Valley Unisex Salon  on Balmatta Road and Vinoda, its Manager   questioning a recent raid and locking up of the Centre by the team led by Mayor.

During Wednesday’s hearing the Mayor submitted an affidavit  on behalf of the MCC.

The Court had earlier issued an interim  stay to the MCC action and had permitted the owner to  operate the salon.
