H1 N1 cases : DK has 46, Udupi 225

Mangaluru, Apr 29, 2019: H1N1 flu also known as swine flu has been detected in 146 patients in Dakshina Kannada district and in 225 patients in Udupi district.

Last year during the monsoon season, H1N1 flu had created serious terror amongst the people in the district, but this year, the disease has been noted even before the monsoon season; fear among the people has increased. In this backdrop, the Health Department has taken up precautionary action.

In 2015, the disease had claimed the life of 7 people and in 2017 two people succumbed to swine flu. In 2018, 6 people lost their life to H1N1 flu, it was revealed.
