Gurji Deepotsava Samithi dedicates Lokayya Shetty Memorial Circle at Ballalbagh

Mangalore, Jan 21, 2015 : A circle constructed in memory of veteran freedom fighter, former MLA  and labour leader Late M Lokayya Shetty was inaugurated at Ballalbagh in Mangaluru on January 21, Wednesday. The  Circle is the contribution of Gurji Deepotsava Samithi of Ballalbagh. A statue of Lokayya Shetty who was also a great patron of wrestling and other sports was also unveiled on the occasion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated the Circle while Nitte University Vice Chancellor N Vinay Hegde unveiled the statue of late Lokayya Shetty.

Mahabala Maarla, Mayor, AJ Shetty, Chairman of AJ Group of Institutions, Ajith Kumar Rai, President of  Buntara Mathra Sangha,   Monappa Bhandari, former MLC, Ganesh Hosabettu, former mayor, M Sureshchandra Shetty, President of Gurji Deepotsava Samithi and others were present.
