By 11 am, water up to six feet was stagnant on the road. The flood level receded by 12.25 pm, allowing the movement of vehicles.

The traffic movement was obstructed at Gundya, Addahole, Shiradi, Udane, Enjira and Nelyadka. Students and workers who were going to Uppinangadi and Puttur from Mangaluru and also those who were on their way to Mangaluru faced inconvenience due to traffic logjam.

Heavy vehicles, including tankers and container lorries plying between Mangaluru-Bengaluru, lined up on both sides of the road on a four km long stretch. Buses, cars and tempo travel vehicles moved through Periyashanti-Mardhala and Kaikamba-Gundya route.

The floods in Gundya stream intensified as a result of floods in Kempuhole flowing alongside Shiradi Ghat, after rains in the ghat section. Water from Kempuhole joined Gundya stream.

Vehicular movement on Uppinangadi Road has come to a halt from the last two days as the Hosamata bridge was inundated from Wednesday, owing to floods in Gundya stream.
