Gujjarkere lake development project relaunched

Mangaluru, Feb 24, 2015 :    Gujjarkere lake (near Jeppu Market)  development work as a  project was launched with the groundbreaking ceremony (Guddali puja)  by Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo on February 22 . Immediately  after the religious ceremony  a formal  civil function was organized.

Addressing the gathering, MLA J R Lobo said "I  thank the minor irrigation department for sanctioning Rs one crore for Gujjarekere lake development. In the past development works were initiated by the MCC but due to shortage of funds it could not complete all the works.”   He went on to add that  when development of any area is concerned, all politics must be set aside.  Maximum use of the funds for the betterment of the society should be the total aim.

A good plan is  prepared  for the Gujjarekere lake. The walls will be strengthened, the drain water leakage sealed, a beautiful garden around the lake will come up for an esthetic look.  All present wished success for the project.  MLA Lobo said he is confident that before  Dasara festival, the project will be completed.

Mayor Mahabala Maarla said, "I am grateful to our MLA  J R Lobo for arranging funds through the minor irrigation department. I wish speedy completion of the work and hope that this Gujjarekere lake is useful to everyone."  Deputy mayor Kavita, local corporator Rathikala, managing trustee of Mangala Devi Temple, Ramanath Hegde, opposition leader in the corporation, BJP Counselor  Premananda Shetty, Swamiji of Ramakrishna Math and others were present.
