Groom meets death mysteriously on wedding day

Sullia, July  14, 2016:Reports have come in that a few hours before he was to tie the wedding knot, on the morning of the D-day, a  groom around 30 years of age, died after he slipped and fell in bathroom on July 13, Wednesday. The incident occurred at Panja in Sullia taluk.

Groom meets death mysteriously on wedding day Preliminary post mortem report from Government Hospital, Puttur said that he might have died due to suspected cardiac arrest.   According to Subrahmanya Police, victim Sachin, electrician by profession and resident of Panja had gone to bathroom to shave around 8.30am while other guests at the house were preparing for the wedding.

He fell down as soon entered the room and lost consciousness. Immediately relatives took him to private hospital in Puttur, 50kms away from the spot, where he was declared brought dead. His body was shifted to government hospital in Puttur.


The deceased Sachin, son of Parameshwara Gowda of Sullia was scheduled to get married to Gayatri, daughter of Balakrishna Gowda of Honnapady, Edamangala. The wedding ceremony was to be held at Sri Paindody Subrayaswamy Temple. It was an arranged marriage.

Sources claimed that on Tuesday night, the mehendi ceremony had taken place. Victim’s bride-to-be was told about the incident before leaving for the temple, where they were due to be married. "What was to be a celebration for two families has turned into mourning," source added.  Doctors from Government Hospital, Puttur where post-mortem was conducted said that they have sent all samples to forensic laboratory to ascertain the cause of death.

A case of UDR Unnatural Death Report has been registered at Subrahmanya Police Station.
