Govt to sanction Rs 200 cr for new prison: Minister Khader

Mangaluru, Jan 28, 2018: State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies UT Khader laid foundation for the  compound wall of the proposed Central Prison which will come up at Kurnadu and Chelyaru Gram Panchayat limits in Bantwal taluk, on January 27, Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said  the state cabinet was likely to approve the sanction of Rs 200 crore for the construction of the prison.

He said the prison would be a model to the entire state and the works would be taken up in phases.

Umesh Bhat, Executive Engineer gave details of the  project. ZP Member Mamatha Gatti, Mudipu Block Congress President Prashanth Kajava and others were present.
