Govt committed to solve municipal workers problems: Ramanatha Rai

Mangaluru, Jan 4, 2015: DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Forest and Ecology B Ramanatha Rai has re-iterated the commitment of the state government to fulfil the demands of municipal workers.

He was speaking after inaugurating the DK District Municipal Workers Convention held at LadyhilL Church Auditorium here on  January 3, Saturday under the aegis of DK District Municipal Workers and Fourth Division Employees Association.

He also stated that the city mayor, Commissioner and representatives of local administrative bodies must   strive hard to  work towards a secure future for the municipal workers.

Narayana, President of the State Safai Karmacharis Commission who presided over the function said  talks have already been held with the government to solve the problems of the municipal workers and  a situation should not arise wherein the children of municipal workers too opt for the same profession.

JR Lobo, MLA, Ivan D’Souza, MLC, Kavitha Vasu, Deputy Mayor, M Shashidhar Hegde, former mayor, MCC Commissioner Hepsibha Rani Korlapati and others were present.

Achievers in various fields and retired municipal workers were felicitated on the occasion.
