Govt announces Rs 5 lakh compensation to Kabeer family; CID probe ordered

Mangalore, April 20, 2014: State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader has said that the government would be providing a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of Kabeer who was killed in an ANF firing near Shringeri check post on April 19, Saturday.


khader 1Khader who was speaking on the sidelines of a function at Ujire on April 20, Sunday, also informed that the government has ordered a judicial and CID probe into the incident. On this occasion, Khader also informed that the strictest action would follow against the Hindu activists who reportedly attacked the family of Kabeer who had been to Shringeri to get his body.


Abdul Salam, the driver of the taxi in which the family had travelled to Shringeri suffered injuries in his eye and also two of his fingers were fractured in the attack.
