Govt agrees to name Balmatta-Bendorewell Road after Blasius D’Souza : MLA Lobo

Mangaluru, Mar 9,2015 :  JR Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South has informed that the State Government has agreed to name the stretch of road from the Balmatta Canara Bank Circle to Karavali Circle at Bendorewell as  Blasius M D’Souza Road in honour of the former labour  and law minister and Congress leader. Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office on March 9, Monday, Lobo said the official announcement regarding the naming of the road is likely to be made soon.

 

 

He further stated that the government has decided to honour Blasius by naming a road after him in recognition of his services to the society. Lobo also thanked the government, district administration as well as all those who supported the cause.

Lobo said Blasius D’Souza who had served as District Congress President for many years was even Mangaluru City Council Member and MLC. D’Souza was also the Founder of Mangaluru Wildlife Trust and  Governing Council Member of Fr Muller Charitable Institution, Lobo recalled.

Kavitha, Deputy Mayor, Rohith, son of late Blasius D’Souza and other Congress leaders were present.

Earlier Congress workers and leaders paid homage to Blasius D’Souza at the District Congress Office.
