Mangaluru, 29 April 2015: The Government of Karnataka has accorded the administrative sanction (AS) district administrative complex for Dakshina Kannada district at in Padil, Alape village on the outskirt of Mangaluru city at the cost of Rs.41 crore on 28 April 2015.

The under secretary of Revenue Department has sent a copy of AS to Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district and directed to processes under The Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurements Act, 1999 and The Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurements Rules, 2000, AB Ibrahim, Deputy commissioner, said. 


The government had suggested limiting the cost of construction of building complex to Rs. 30 lakh.

 The competent authority designed the cost of building at Rs. 45 crore. Finally, the cabinet meeting held on 17 April 2015 approved the project at cost of Rs.41 Cr. The Karnataka Housing Board, the competent authority to execute the project will initiate process of tendering. AB Ibrahim told to www.mangaloretoday.com. 


In addition to government grant of Rs.30 core for the complex a total of Rs.11crore will be pooled from departments like Health and Family welfare (7cr), Labour Department (3 cr) and Minor Irrigation (1cr), which were sanctioned for construction of new district office buildings for respective departments.


Total of 32 departments will be housed in new complex and all the facilities will be provided along with parking place in the new complex venue.


The new DC office will come up in Padil in Alape village in the outskirt in spacious 5.89 acre land provided by Karnataka Forest Industrial Development Corporation.
The proposal of shifting DC office from present location of Hamilton Circle area to out skirt of the city hanging for the long time since 1994.
