Goonda Act invoked on 3 criminals in Bantwal

Bantwal, Nov 9, 2014: The Bantwal Police have invoked Goonda Act on three notorious criminals on November 8, Saturday. All the three who are in judicial custody are lodged in the Hiriadka Prison in Udupi.

Those who have been booked under the Act are Afeez alias Appi (25) of Maripalla, M Imran (23), also of Maripalla and Haneef alias Mada Haneef (29)  of Devasya in Bantwal. All of them are said to be notorious criminals involved in various crimes including murder, murder attempts, assaults etc.

Of the accused Haneef is facing a total of ten cases including 8 in Bantwal rural police station, one each in Bajpe and Bantwal town police stations

Another accused Afeez  faces five cases including four in Bantwal Rural Police Station and one in Bantwal Town Police station. He is engaged in stone business.

The third accused Imran is a coolie at Mangaluru Central Market and has nine cases including eight in Bantwal rural police station and  one more in Bantwal Town Police Station.
