Gold worth Rs 53 lakhs seized from two passengers at MIA

Mangaluru, Feb 18, 2021:      Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport have  seized  gold weighing over one  kilogram  from two passengers including a woman. The value of the seized gold is Rs 53.5 lakhs.

One of the accused is a woman. The lady had hid  1.103 kg gold  in a sanitary napkin whole 0.404 kg gold was found in pouches.

Earlier on February 11, two Bhatkal origin passengers who were intercepted were  found to have concealed gold in their trouser waist band and side seams.
