Gold worth Rs 34.75 lakhs hidden in mixie motor seized at MIA

Mangaluru, May 16, 2019: Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport have arrested a passenger who arrived from Dubai on May 14,  Tuesday and seized 24 carat gold  worth Rs 34.75 lakh from him.

The seized gold weighed 1052.90 grams and was concealed in mercury coated ingots inside the motor of a mixie of Nikai brand.

The passenger had arrived by a Spice Jet Flight.
