The nurse Annapurna had been to Suratkal for a 3-day training programme when the thieves broke into her house using a duplicate key. She discovered the theft only when she returned on Friday. The thieves made straight for the cupboard where she stored earrings, bangles, pearls, mangalasutra, bracelets, coins, and rings. Owing to this, the police feel that someone known to Annapurna has committed the crime.

Annapurna’s husband, who works abroad, had purchased the gold.
