God invoked save old trees at Padil

Mangaluru, Apr 21, 2016: It is reported that environmentalists offered special  prayers at two places of worship in the city on Apr 21, Wednesday to seek “God’s power” to stop the proposed  DC and State government offices complex at Padil.

 

 

 

Shashidhar Shetty, an activist, said they prayed that “God the Almighty blessed the authorities responsible for the project with wisdom to withdraw the project from the proposed site as it was rich with bio-diversity.”

They performed the prayers and pujaas at Brahmabaidarkala Garodi, Naguri and at Mahadevi Bhajana Mandir at Alape-Karmar.

Activist Shetty alleged that those in power were misusing the powers vested on them in regard to this project. They prayed that the Almighty only should save the trees and other bio-diversity in the marked site at Padil and other places.
