Giving zakath is essential: Haji Y Abdul Kunhi

Mangalore, August 10: “Giving Zakath is essential because the poor have the right to receive it,” said Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya University Haji Y. Abdul Kunni during his inaugural address at a seminar on Zakath organized by the Voice of Quran at Town Hall on Aug 10, Tuesday. He also said that these programmes will be useful to the Muslim community of Mangalore.

 

 

Further explaining Zakath, he said that the beneficiaries should first be identified and later various organizations can deliver the Zakath to the houses of the beneficiaries.

Convener of Voice of Quran Mansoor Ahmed Azad made the welcome speech; Chairman of Voice of Quran H. I. Abusufyan Madani presided over the programme; M. Abdul Hameed Musliyar led the group in prayer; and Qazi of Udupi P. M. Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal presented the seminar.

P. M. Abbas Musliyar of AI Madina Manjanady, Ibrahim Bawa Haji, the editor of Al Ansar weekly, S. M. Abdurashid Hai of SMR Group, and many others participated in the programme.
