Get tested immediately if you have Covid symptoms : Udupi DC’s video message

Udupi, July 31, 2020:    Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh has appealed to people of the district to immediately visit  the nearest fever clinic without delay  if anyone  develops any Covid-19 symptoms and avail of the free treatment  provided in the district.

 

In a video message,  the DC said the  death rate  due to Covid has seen a rise in the district in the past 10 to 15 days and pointed out that those with Covid-19 symptoms arriving in hospitals in last minute was the reason for the same. This has made it difficult to save lives, he said.

 Pointing out that Kashaya was not a cure for Covid-19, the DC said if anyone has fever, cold and cough they should immediately get tested. He also said   there is separate treatment facilities for  asymptomatic people, those with symptoms, those who need oxygen and ventilator and ICU facility.

DC Jagadeesh also stated that Udupi district tops the state in Covid treatment and that even the death rate was less compared to other districts.

He also stated that most who died of Covid-19 in the district also had other ailments while the immune power of some was low. He further appealed to the public to take greater care of elders. Everyone needs to be a warrior in this fight to save lives and urged people to join hands with the district administration and health department in its endeavour.
