Gas leakage after tanker overturns at Lavathadka near Nelyadi

Kadaba, March 3, 2019: A gas tanker  overturned at Lavathadka  between Nelyadi and Gundya on Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway on March 3, Sunday afternoon after its driver lost control over the vehicle. The tanker was heading towards Bengaluru. Gas is said to be leaking from the vehicle resulting in disruption of traffic on the highway.

Senior officials who have rushed to the spot have suspended vehicular movement on the route.  Alternate arrangements have been made for vehicles to ply on the Uppinangady, Kadaba, Kaikamba, Gundya route.

Police said that the tanker belonged ot Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL). It overturned at about 23 km away from Uppinangady between Gundia and Uppinangady.
