Garbage collection remains suspended as workers go on strike

Mangaluru, June 16, 2018:  Heaps of garbage could be seen on roadsides in Mangaluru as garbage remains uncollected since the past three days due to the strike of the workers over wage issues. The workers have been abstaining from duty since June 14.

Though MCC said garbage collection has resumed on Friday, that does not seem to be the case. Antony Waste Management Company, the contracting agency for garbage collection, said the company director is likely to visit the city on June 16 for talks with the striking workers.
