Gangadhar swims 1.4 kms in Padmasana posture and chained legs; enters India Book of Records

Udupi, Jan 24, 2021: Gangadhar G Kadekar, a veteran swimmer aged 65 has entered the India Book of Records by swimming  for 1.4 kms in the sea in  Padmasana posture and his legs chained.

Gangadhar set out on his mission at 8.36 am on Sunday  at Kidiyoor Padukere  in Udupi. Additional DC of Udupi chained his legs following which Gangadhar plunged into the ocean and swam in breast-stroke  style and covered a distance of 1.4 kms  by clocking 1.13.03 hours at 9. 49 am. This is the first such record in India Book of Records.

Hundreds of people including Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, former MLA Pramod Madhwaraj and others  who were present at the  place where Gangadhar completed his mission,  congratulated him.

Harish R, representative of India Book of Records who was present as a judge said  Gangadhar’s was a big achievement and he would receive his certification.
