Gambling: 21 held, goods worth Rs.86,37.000 seized

Mangaluru, Jan 15:  Twenty one persons were arrested for illegal gambling and valuables worth Rs. 86,37,000  including eight cars, one auto-rickshaw and 24 mobile sets seized from them, in a raid by the CCB Police of an illegal gambling den at a homestay in Adyar Hills on Monday. The homestay is owned by Suresh Shetty of Adyar village.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Melvyn Vishwas D’ Souza, Sharath Kumar, Guruprasad, Raja, Mohammed Hanif, Shivaraj, Anwar, Adarsh, Radhakrishna Nair, Arvin D’ Souza, Mahadevappa, Kumarnath Shetty, Alwyn Richard, Ganesh V S, Preetham alias Prashanth, A B Basheer, Savan, Nithin D’ Souza, Abid Hussain, Denzil Vixon D’ Souza and Mohammed Hanif.

Kankanady Police have registered a case, However homestay  owner Suresh Shetty has been absconding.
