GST- a political gimmick, says Minister Khader

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, July 2, 2017: The GST introduced by the Union Government is just a political gimmick, said State Minister for  Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader.

Addressing press persons at Circuit House here on July 2, Sunday, Khader demanded the Prime Minister to first clarify as to in what way GST will benefit the common man. The GST is just a ploy to create an illusion in the minds of the people, he alleged.

UT Khader says GST is political gimic

The Union Government has failed to implement any beneficial scheme for the masses as done by the UPA Government, Khader said and added that there was no necessity to convene a midnight session to announce implementation of GST. The publicity  given to the same was nothing but a ploy to fool people, he  complained.

Pointing out that Modi had opposed GST when the UPA proposed its implementation in 2006, Khader said the very same man was now in the lead in the implementation of the GST. "The Congress has backed GST in the interest of the nation. But the government need not  glorify GST," he said.

Mohammad Monu, Mangaluru TP Chief, Jabbar  Boliyar,  Srinivas  Shetty and others were present.
