Mangaluru October 31, 2016: “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah must quit and he should be replaced either by Home Minister G Parameshwar, Energy Minister DK Shivakumar or former CM SM Krishna.”
This was the demand put forth by Congress veteran B Janardhana Poojary while addressing media persons at Press Club on October 31, Monday. “The future of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah looks uncertain,” stated Poojary.
Referring to a recent ETV channel survey which has revealed that the Congress would fail to return to power in the coming elections, Poojary said the media has already exposed CM Siddaramaiah and his cabinet colleagues dozing off in the assembly. “Siddaramaiah needs to be awake to safeguard his government,” said Poojary in an assertive tone
Speaking on the privatization of Udupi Government Hospital and the opposition to the same by the BJP which waved black flags against Siddaramaiah, Poojary took strong exception to the statement of the CM that he did not have much information about the issue. “Being Chief Minister of the state, you need to be aware of the ongoing issue,” he added.
“You have been elected as Chief Minister by the people of Karnataka and at present people are aware about your failures,” Poojary said and added that Siddaramaiah’s failure will be an advantage for the opposition parties.
Poojary appreciated social activist SR Hiremath for exposing JD(S) supremo HD Devegowda and his son Kumaraswamy who are allegedly involved in illegally acquiring 110 acres of land worth Rs 220 crores and demanded investigation on the issue.
Kallige Taranath Shetty, Vijay Kumar Shetty and others were present.
