Frustrated bakery worker stabs owner to death at Murdeshwar

Bhatkal, Oct 04, 2014:  An employee of a bakery in the town  of Murdeshwar has allegedly stabbed his owner to death infuriated over the latter for not paying his salary arrears for four months despite repeated plea.

The deceased is  Ramesh Harikanth (34) while the accused is Kumar Basava Achary. It is learnt, Ramesh owed nearly Rs 10,000 to Basava.

Sources said on October 2, Thursday, Kumar had  appealed to his employer to pay his salary arrears. But when his appeal fell on deaf ears, an angered Basava Achary purchased a knife and stabbed Ramesh who was sleeping in a room near the bakery.

The police who gathered information about the murder, immediately swung into action and arrested Basava Achary from a bar at Ankola within six hours of the murder. It is learnt, Ramesh’s family was on a vacation at Karwar when the incident took place.

Murdeshwar police are investigating the case.
