Four-day flower show to begin in Kadri Park from January 26

Mangaluru, Jan 25, 2017 : Department of horticulture, DK district administration and Siri Horticulture Association jointly organise     4-day flower and fruit show in Kadri park from January 26, Thursday.

Officials of horticulture department and experts will give demonstrations on growing of fruits, vegetables in terrace gardens. Visitors will also get to see vegetables grown by the department at their experimental garden adjacent to the main venue of the flower show. Various competitions including flower arrangement, flower rangoli has been organised to enthuse the visitors to take part in the event

Nearly 80 stalls will be set up at the venue, including 10 stalls that will give information on government schemes to the people. The stalls will also have those selling horticultural and organic products besides nurseries that will sell plants. This is to encourage people to buy plants and rear it in their homes, he said. Organisers have roped in Hotel Owners’ Association for ’Aahara Mela’ where foodies can savour local delicacies of their choice.

Senior citizens, school children in uniform accompanied by their teachers and differently abled children will be given free entrance. Visitors will be charged with an  entrance fee  of Rs 20 for adults and Rs 10 for children.
