Four arrested in petrol bunk manager looting case

Mangaluru, Oct 05, 2021: Police have arrested four persons in connection with the recent incident wherein a manager of a petrol bunk was robbed  of cash at Chilimbi while he was on way to the bank.

Those arrested are Shyam Shanker  from Shaktinagar, an employee of  Ashirvad petrol bunk, Karthik and Sagar from Shaktinagar, both painters and Abhishek from Kudupu who  works at a bar in Mumbai as manager.

The incident took place on September 28 when the petrol bunk manager Bhojappa was on way to the bank. He was waylaid and robbed of Rs 4.2 lakh cash by the accused.

City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar informed that the accused Shivashanker was an employee of the  petrol bunk where  Bhojappa was the manager.

It is learnt the accused had planned  to rob the manager on September 26 but eventually succeeded on September 28 and had then left for Mumbai.

Police have seized Rs 60,000 cash,  mobile phones and a vehicle from the accused. Investigations revealed that the accused had bought some goods in Mumbai and more arrests are likely in this case.
