Foundation Stone Laid for St Aloysius Gonzaga (CBSE) School

Mangaluru, Jan 14, 2016: The Foundation stone laying ceremony of St. Aloysius Gonzaga (CBSE) School was held at St Aloysius Gonzaga Kinder Garden Grounds by the Mangalore Jesuits Education Society on 14th January 2016 Jesuits of St Aloysius College in the presence of eminent guests, students  and well wishers.

On this occasion, the foundation stone was blessed by Rev. Dr Leo D’Souza, SJ and was laid by the chief guest J.R. Lobo, MLA.   Lobo addressing the gathering said “The St Aloysius institution has been rendering its service to the society without differentiating between caste and religion and has helped society to maintain balance of life. He acknowledged that half of Mangaluru’s educated people have studied at St Aloysius College and adding the new building block is another step for better quality of education.

The Guest of Honor, Ivan D’Souza, MLC said “The services provided by the Aloysius College without reward in return are best services one can afford and such selfless services should be appreciated”. Ganesh Karnik, Guest of Honour also added, “Every child from Kashmir to Kanyakumari should be exposed to similar kind of curriculum to ensure equal education to all”. In addition he said, “Catholic institutions including St Aloysius College institutions have contributed immensely to the education in coastal part of Karnataka”.

Presiding over the event, Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions on his speech said, “The new building is expected by the next 18 months as being promised”. Adding a note on students of the school he said, “Whenever I visited the school, I found the children so enthusiastic, intelligent and talented. With hard work, these students would be the future leader of our country”.  “Education can bring transformation into society,” he added.
