Fossil fuel use must be reduced to minimum: Expert

Mangaluru, Oct 04, 2019: Dr Kyuro Sasaki, professor, Department of Earth Resources Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan,  said that solutions have to be found to complex problems related to renewable energy and limit the use of fossil fuel.

“There is a need to focus more on reducing emission to prevent unpredictable weathers resulting in sudden rain and flood that submerge villages,” he said at the world conference on Applied Sciences, Engineering and Management at Shree Devi Institute of Technology.

Dr Shuichi Torii, head of the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering, Kumamoto University, Japan, said use of alternative fuels and sustainable fuels is the need of the day. He spoke about green and alternative energy sources which are untapped and yet be tapped for long term usage.

Satya Illa of BRCORP extended support to rescholars and institutions taking up research or setting up incubation centres at their institutions.

Dr K E Prakash, director, Shree Devi Institute of Technology, highlighted the importance of research and also reiterated that students should further enhance their academic qualifications based on their areas of interest of research. There was much interest in the information shared by the resources persons.
