Former Kannada film producer Krishnappa passes away

Udupi, June 27, 2019:  A former Kannada film producer and a  businessman M R Krishnappa (90)  passed away at the Ajjarkad Hospital.  Krishnappa who had attempted suicide by jumping into the sea about one and a half years ago, was later rescued by social workers and since then  was residing at the Karunya ashram in Katapady.

 

Krishnappa who was  suffering from age related ailments was  admitted to the hospital by social workers Nityananda Olakadu and Taranath Mesta Shiroor upon request from the Ashram authorities.

He had co-produced a number of Kannada films. The 1977 film "Geddavalu Naane"  featuring Ashok and Sreevidya was produced by him. This film was directed by Aroor Pattabhi.
