Forest Minister Rai visits Dharmasthala

Dharmasthala, May 24, 2013: State Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment B Ramanatha Rai visited Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, for the first time  after taking charge as minister.

After offering prayers to the Lord,. Rai spoke to Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala. Dr Heggade urged Rai to give importance to planting saplings in the dry lands.


Speaking to the media, Rai revealed the plans to establish an urban Eco park in a ten-acre land near Pilikula to create awareness on the importance of environmental protection among the future generation.


He also said that the plans to set up a tiger sanctuary will be discussed with union minister along with measures to protect environment.
