Flower vendor’s murder : Protests by saffron brigade, undeclared bundh in Moodbidri

Moodbidri, Oct 9, 2015 : The gruesome murder of a flower merchant  Prashanth (29), in the town on October 9, Friday morning,  has led to flash protests by Hindutva  organisations  as the deceased Prashanth was said to be a Bhajrangdal leader.

 

 

 Hundreds of Hindu activists were on the streets  and were seen shouting slogans  and have also reportedly warned of retaliation. Activists of the VHP, Bhajrangdal and other groups  participated in the protests.

Meanwhile, Moodbidri town is observing an undecared bund with most shopkeepers downing their shutters fearing  the tense atmosphere.

Even private buses are off the roads and several people have remained stranded  in the bus stops.
