Florine murder case : Cops arrest accused in Mumbai

Karkala, July 17, 2018: The Karkala Police have arrested Hosmaru resident Mohammad Riyaz (33) in connection with the murder of Florine Machado alias Florine D’Souza at her residence at Kukkundur. The arrest was made  at Mumbai by a police team led by Circle Inspector  Joy Antony. The accused has now been brought to Karkala.

It has been gathered that Riyaz had been to the Ajmer Dargah after committing the murder of Florine. He used to otherwise stay at his wife’s house at Ullal.

Riyaz who was into cable business in the UAE had come into touch with Florine through Facebook. Riyaz   who learnt that Florine was separated from her husband had gathered all details of her and had even helped her. Sources said he had even given chit fund money worth Rs 13 lakhs to Florine.

Interrogation of the accused is underway to know the exact motive behind the murder.
