Flag post at Korangrapady auto stand damaged by miscreants

Udupi, Oct 10, 2014:  Some unidentified miscreants have damaged the flag post at the Korangrapady autorickshaw  stand in the town on October 9, Thursday night. The incident came to light on Friday morning. The police were soon after informed.

It has been gathered that the miscreants had hurled a huge boulder over the flag post thereby damaging it. Meanwhile, the local Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union has warned of severe protests if the culprits were not arrested at the earliest.

The flag post was erected at the 15 year old autorickshaw stand seven years ago.

Police officials have inspected the spot and investigations are underway. One suspicion is that a land dispute might have possibly led to the incident.
