Five injured as Pandal collapses in Dharmasthala

Mangaluru, Feb 15, 2019: Five persons were injured after a pandal erected for staging Panchamahavaibhava at Dharmasthala near here collapsed on Thursday.

 

The staging of Panchamahavaibhava was part of the 10-day-long Mahamastakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali in Dharmasthala. This was being staged in the pandal erected behind the Amrutavarshini auditorium.

According to the police, the pandal collapsed at around 1 p.m when people had proceeded for lunch. The pandal came down slowly to allow a few persons below to come out. The five persons, who received minor injuries, were treated at the hospital nearby. The Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and cleared the pandal with the help of volunteers. There was no disruption in the rituals.
